MINTRO · OPEN BETA
Mintro works today, and it is still being finished.
Open beta means anyone can sign up, bank sync is turned on, and your budget is a real budget you can run your month on. It also means the person building Mintro is still building it, and you will find places where that shows.
What is solid, and what is rough.
The parts that handle your money have the most tests behind them. The parts you look at and click are the parts still being polished.
Solid
Run your month on it
- Envelopes, Ready to assign, and months that carry over into the next
- Live bank sync through Plaid, without your bank login ever coming to Mintro
- ChatGPT, Claude, or Kimi sorting your transactions, through a connector or a key
- Goals, retirement planning, debt payoff, and scenarios
- Exporting your whole budget, at any time
Rough, sometimes
Tell us when you hit one
- A screen that says something slightly odd
- A bank that sends a payee's name in all capitals
- A guide that is a step behind the app
- A button you expected that is not there yet
- A page that is occasionally slow the first time it loads
A note from the builder
Hi. It is one guy.
Mintro is built by one person. Not a team in an office, not a fund with a roadmap. Me, evenings and weekends and most of the hours in between, building the budget I wanted to use.
I will say it plainly: I love YNAB. Envelope budgeting changed how I think about money, and Mintro is the same method on purpose. What I wanted was to stop spending every Sunday sorting purchases into envelopes, so I could spend that time on the decisions instead. That is the whole idea.
Plaid approved Mintro for live bank connections, which was a big day. It also means Mintro has a real bill every month: every connected bank costs money to keep connected. That is why bank sync is on a paid plan, and it is why the plans are priced as low as I can make them and still keep the lights on. No ads, no selling data, ever. The subscription is the whole business.
I am doing my best out here. Nobody ships perfect, and I will not pretend to. When something breaks or reads wrong, tell me. It gets fixed, usually the same week, often the same day.

Three ways to help.
1
Say hi
The forum is where people share how they set up their budgets, ask questions, and tell me what is missing. Introduce yourself. I read every thread.
2
Tell me what broke
Tell me about a wrong number, an odd screen, or a bank that will not connect. One line is enough, and a screenshot is even better.
3
Become a founder
A founder seat is $500, paid once, for everything in Mintro for life. There are five hundred seats, and your name goes on the Founders wall for as long as Mintro exists.
Founders, forum regulars and anyone who writes in are shaping what Mintro becomes. Help build it better, and help build a community of people who like knowing where their money went.
